Study habits

How to effectively have good study habits is extremely difficult. Mostly because we get easily distracted by so many things around us, be it by noise, people or we’re just too damn tired to even study.

Hey, we mostly feel the same way. It never gets any easier. We just need to learn to either accept or ignore these distractions. And I think these diversions, can actually help you in one way or another.

And yes, that’s a piece of cake that makes him stumble. We all get distracted sometimes. So here are some of the things you can do to have good study habits (hopefully!).

Be positive when you study.

It is very important that you remind yourself of the amazing skills and superb abilities that you have! Yes, you are amazing! You just don’t know it yet. You’ve been studying English, you can speak English. Maybe not so perfectly but in no time you will be very good at it. As I always say, trust yourself!

Remember to talk to yourself.

Jane 1: You’re awesome!

Jane 2: I know!

Jane 3: As always!

Jane 4: Keep it up!

Stop thinking about how hard it would be. If you always think about catastrophic things, it will become a reality. After that, there’s no turning back. Love yourself and don’t be too harsh!

The place where you study is important(or it might not be).

Finding a perfect study place is important. It doesn’t always need to be quiet. I, for example, get easily bored when the place is too quiet. A little noise is okay, too much noise is a different story.

If you want to be good at listening, go somewhere that’s not too quiet.

Why?

So that you can actually focus on the words that you’re listening to. It’s not easy at first I tell you, but once you master your ability to focus steadily, everything will be very easy to hear.

A little background noise never hurt anyone.

Never procrastinate.

It’s one of the biggest problems English learners have. We tend to delay things because we have other things to do. It is okay to procrastinate sometimes but not all the time. So before you study, do all the unnecessary things that you have to do. After doing all those things, study.

Don’t cram.

Try not to be too hard on yourself. Never force yourself to learn as many things as you can all at once. You’ll only get tired and perhaps not remember everything you’ve studied. Take it easy. It’s not a competition.

Practice by yourself or with other people.

Yes, for you to be good at something you need to constantly practice.

How can you improve your magnificent skills if you hardly practice?

Find someone you can always talk to in English. Real conversations matter the most if you want to be good in speaking. Have someone check your writing tasks if you want to be good in writing. Someone will always be ready to help you, so don’t worry. Have fun with it.

There are so many different study habits for every person. It just depends on you and how you deal with it. As long as you enjoy doing it, then go for it! These are just some tips from an unconventional teacher(LOL) and hey, I’m always around if you need any help.
